Party like mad

Label: Pale Music
Genre: Electronix - Elektro - Techno
catalogue nr: PALE 011CD The Berlin record label Pale Music is once again serving
us a giant horn of plenty direct from the underground.
It contains things on their way up, things which will
remain shamefully overlooked, and things which deserve
to stay where they are. The two first releases in the
series presented names such as Peaches and Chicks on
Speed, so you can imagine that there are great expectations
as to who will make it in this third heat.
The field is certainly a broad one. All the way from
heavy machine beats to to pure dirty snot punk. A few
prominent people are here as well. Such as Marc Almond
who does the vocals on Punx Soundcheck's "Vanity-Poverty-Revenge." Unfortunately
the result is just a little dull.
Then there's a lot more spark when former members of
Adam and The Ants and Renegade Soundwave meet up in Lavender
Pill Mob and let themselves be remixed by Film 2. It's
funky, punky and pop on a high level with both humor,
edge and coolness and everything else which ought to
make a great hit.
Thus the collection is a multitude of trash and treasures.
While lots of tracks spark with energi, power and imagination,
others seem a little stiff and stereotyped. These days
it takes more than a beat, a punk guitar and lyrics of
sex, drugs and night clubs to impress.
Fortunately this double album has a full 41 tracks to
choose between. And if the world was a better place,
lots of these songs would be super hits. And also Denmark
has a very good representative in Mish and his "Beauty
Regime." In this song the electronics and the punk
attitude go hand in hand in in a sharply pricking sound,
as it does in many of the best tracks.
All in all you only need a few pushes on the "skip"-button
along the way, and then Berlin Insane III is a very good
possible soundtrack if you wanna party like mad. |
